You buy, Quy discovers Scuba and the elusive Seahorse

If you had been following my smaller updates in Fscebook you may be confused to know that there was a classic off-by-one and we had another day in paradise (Boracay)!

The Boracay leg of the trip ended this morning with Quy and I currently still in the airport with a 6+ layover :(. Boracay is amazing, I could not of imagined the setup they have. There is essentially the beach with enough room for chairs, etc, followed by 15ft of beachfront used by the restaurants for outdoor seating and then a walkway path  and finally the drinking or food establishments. Entertainment along the walkway varied from fire throwers to various live bands to Dj's. all this comes together for an truly epic experience.

We stayed essentially near the start of station 2 in betweeen station 1, turns out was the best possible location. Out hotel also offered Vegas style yard stick drinks for a few dollars so hydration was no problem. Out hotel aka Boracay Cottages also cooked up a full pig almost daily, so had the best drinks and best food all at our door steps.

"You buy" - There was very little pan handling but this one girl did stick out. Her brothers noticed Quys vball and started to play, she wanted nothing to do with that so came over and sat down. You buy... No thanks.  She then played a bit and tried pulling out the pouty lips.. You buy... I proceeded to put on my super pouty lips and tell her how I invented this trick and she's got nothing on me, she tried to hold it in but eventually I got a smile and ofcouse still a final you buy before her brothers were done and she moved on.

With the spare day Quy decided to try Scuba! He took the discover scuba option and away he went, I tailed along on the same boat to score a dive myself of course. Was a bit choppy as the weather was turning into what would be rain non stop for half a  day. Dive location wasn't anything special it was a site right off the beach only a 5 minute ride, those sites are usually not the most lively.

On the way back however I asked one of the dive masters if they see any sea horses, turns out you can snorkel in the sea grass right in from of our places and find them! I was shocked, I've been hoping to see them and here he is telling me I could of been snorkeling all week!!! And of course it proceeds to rain the rest of the day so not ideal for snorkeling and finding my elusive sea horse. Another reason to come back soon ;)

Lots of other adventures to share, rented scooters went to Ariel's point which afforded cliff diving, snorkeling and kayaking. Seems jumping from only 8 meters rather than the highest at 15 meteres still produced butt cheeks that hurt afterwards for a few days!

One last miss adventure to share and some words of advice for future travellers, I've now scientifically shown the Nexus S Android phone does not enjoy sitting at the bottom of the pool for 30 minutes. Note to self, don't put your cell in your pocket when heading to the hotel pool, even if you tell yourself it's just for a sec to free up a hand ;).

Some photos up in Flicker, a bit behind with the story.
